With the approach of the holiday season, Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Westchester NY went to work, donned their aprons and chef's caps, and meticulously prepared the dough, pouring them into trays and baking them in batches of freshly baked cupcakes. Once the baking was done came the bright red toppings.
On Sunday, November 21, 2021, they carried the entire lot of more than 130 cupcakes to the Sunday School in Mount Vernon, NY. Their purpose was to sell these cupcakes to the children and their parents and raise money for The Rotary Foundation's “END POLIO NOW”. campaign.
The hard work of the Club members paid off and the cupcakes all sold out quickly, raising nearly $250 for the campaign. Shazia Alirahi, Secretary of the Club was assisted by her five daughters all of whom are members of the Club.
